I finally had the opportunity to see the Lovehammers live at The Blender Theater at The Gramercy in NYC this past Friday night. It was an awesome show & I am sure I saw a few of you from the boards there. Awesome bunch of fans & of course one hell of a show!!
Got there early & actually ran into Marty while he was bringing stuff into the venue. Seeing everyone under the sun with photos of themselves with him on Face Book, me & my friend Christina crossed the street & introduced ourselves.
He was so nice to speak with & actually waited a bit while I fumbled for my camera which I had wrapped in tissues cause I did not know if the venue allowed cameras. It was funny cause I mean it took me a while to unwrap it while Christina was making small talk & cracking us both up by her statement Geeze you so are tall! LOL
I had a chance to tell him how much I love their music & the new CD, how I get a kick out of their self promotion, & how I admire the shows they do for cancer, being a cancer survivor of 5 years myself. He was just so cool taking the time to let me ramble on, cause when I get nervous I ramble, and a good looking blonde well has that effect on me.
We ended up front & center. So if you were there when he was leaning over the center I was the one right under his mic wire, not knowing what to do or where to look LOL I know after the show one fan came up to me & said you should have seen your face! I was really blown away!
I'm a huge Cheap Trick fan been following them since 1979, closing in on seeing them 100 times & sometimes I am asked by the band to photograph them, so I even made a huge post on their board about the Lovehammers & how great they are. I'm Zandergal on that board, so if you want to see the videos I shot from Fri. night they are on Youtube under Zandergal. I am also getting teased that I am cheating on Robin Zander with another blonde now that professed my love for Marty LOL....My bad I'm cheating on my other band from Rockford.
Anyway, I've been gushing to all my friends & on Face Book how much I enjoyed the show. So thanks for letting me gush some more!!
If any of you are from NJ or NY area & travel to see the band let me know. I know I'll need another Lovehammer fix real soon.
