I've heard from a few of you who are attending this show who want to help. That's great.

Our mission leading up to the concert will be to request Lovehammers and specifically "Trees". I've posted contact information for the St. Louis area radio stations. Please hit them hard in the days leading up to the concert.

Our mission at the show will be to hand out flyers to those who do not know about Lovehammers. I know the guys will do most of the work making them new fans. It's our job to tell these new fans about the band and put information in their hands. We also want them walking out the door having purchased the new CD.

I'm scouting for an area bar/pub/restaruant that serves alcohol where we can meet before the show. I'm hoping to be in town by 5 p.m. that day to meet anyone.

The Family Arena does indeed serve alcohol. Beer, wine, wine coolers and mixed drinks. YAY!!!!

Doors open at 7 p.m. The show starts at 8 p.m.

Here's a list of radio stations. You can either call or e-mail your request for "Trees".

http://www.kshe95.com/ (You have to register to make requsests. They also stream onine if you don't live close enough to get the station on your radio.)

The River http://www.wvrv.com/ is promoting the INXS show on their website. Hit them hard with requests. Request Lines

You can also e-mail him at tommythepointpd@stl.emmis.com

They play Nickelbackand POD, both bands that Lovehammers have opened for in the past.

This should get everyone started. If you know of any other radio stations that you think might play Lovehammers, post the information.

If you haven't contacted me about street teaming at this show, please send me a PM.

Can't wait to meet everyone who is going to this show.
poet
In addition to requesting "Trees" at the St. Louis area radio stations and your local radio stations, you can also promote the show. The St. Charles show is not sold out yet. Let's do all we can to fill those empty seats with Marty's fans from Rock Star who do not yet know about Lovehammers. We want to make them all fans of the band. The venue does not even mention Lovehammers is opening for INXS on the web site. Grrr There are some great flyers in the cards/flyer thread in this forum. You can download and print them, write the venue specific information on the flyer, photocopy it and distribute in local clubs, bars, restaurants, coffee houses, music stores, anywhere fans of rock music might go.

Don't forget to look for the CD in your local record stores and other stores where CD's are sold. If you do not find them on a new release end cap, look under C or M. If they are not on an endcap, casually grab the stack of CD's and move them to an open spot on the new release end cap. If there are plenty of CD's in C and/or M, you can leave one in those sections.
poet
Hey all! While we have to wait for our Lovehammers fix, this gives us more time to street team and fill any empty seats with Lovehammers fans or fans of Marty's from Rock Star.

Keep calling radio stations. Call the ones in the first post in this thread as well as your local rock stations.

Print and distribute flyers that promote the show and the CD. You can pass these out, leave small stacks or put them on bullitin boards in bars, coffee houses, record stores, laundry mats, wherever. College and University campuses are a good place to post flyers as well.

Visit your local record stores or other stores that sell CD's and see if the CD is in stock IF it is, make sure it is in a prominiant location. If it isn't inquire about the CD with an employee of the store.

If you have any other ideas, post them in this thread. If you plan to street team the show, please send me a PM.
poet
Hey all!

I feel so alone in here.

I hope everyone is calling in and requesting "Trees" at the St. Louis area radio stations as well as your local rock station.

Dino posted about making requests. He confirmed what I have always suggested. Requests made by telephone are more effective, be short and sweet. Simply say something like this "Thanks for playing Foo Fighters last hour. Can you play "Trees" by Marty Casey & Lovehammers?"

Now go call and request "Trees". Report back if you hear it on St. Louis ore yoru local radio station. We want "Trees" on the radio when the guys roll into town.
poet
I hope that since none of my street team is posting in this thread, you are all busy calling radio stations and putting up flyers. lol

Keep calling radio stations. Call the the ones listed in this thread. We want "Trees" on the radio when Lovehammers hit St. Louis/St. Charles. Keep calling your local stations. Keep it short and sweet. Call at noon, at five and any time your DJ announces he/she will be playing requests.

Post flyers about the show and the CD wherever you can.

I sent a press release to all the St. Louis area entertainment papers. If you want a copy of the release to send to your local entertainment newspaper, PM me. I used to do this for a living.

Keep spreading the word about Loveahammers people.
poet
Hey all!

One of our goals as a street team is to get "Trees" played on the radio before Lovehammers hit St. Louis. We also want to get "Trees" added to the playlist at stations that have a playlist. We do this by requesting the song regularly.

Please continue to call the stations you are already calling to request "Trees". If you are not already calling The Point in St. Louis and Q101 in Chicago, please add those to your call or e-mail request list. These two stations set trends in the midwest and once they start playing the "Trees" te rest f the midwest will fall in line and all of the midwest will get to hear "Trees".

Now get out there and call and request so the Lovehammers can hear "Trees" playing on the radio as the drive into St. Louis.

Poet, I just saw this thread. I will add these stations to my e-mail request list and send a personal e-mail to them saying "Please play Trees by Marty Casey and Lovehammers." Will once every other day work for you? As you know the stations better than me, let me know what you think.

Thanks verbamate.  I really appreciate it.  Dino asked me to focus on Q101 and The Point.  He feels that once these two stations add "Trees" to their playlist, all the other stations in the midwest will fall in line.  Really, whatever you can do. I know the noon DJ at my local rock station recognized my voice after two calls in a row.  lol  Do whatever you can.  With e-mail requests, I think it is most important that they get a large number from a lot of different people.  It's better to call in requests at your local stations and to do it when they are playing all requests.
poet
We only have three days until Lovehammers arrive in St. Charles to rock the roof off that freakin' arena.

I want you all calling the St. Louis area rock radio stations and requesting "Trees" ever time thoughts of Marty, Dino, Bobby or Billy cross your mind.  In fact, if those thoughts are dirty thoughts, I want you to call twice.  Remember, short and sweet folks.  Simply call and ask, "Can you play 'Trees' by Marty Casey & Lovehammers?  Thanks!"  Oh and don't forget to keep calling your local rock radio stations too.

See you chicas at the Baha!
poet
Lovehammers are on their way to St. Charles.

Call the St. Louis area radio stations and request "Trees".  Call during the noon hour and drive at five hour.  We want "Trees" on the radio when the Lovheammers are in town.

We will be meeting at 5:00 p.m. at the Baha Rock Club on Main Street in St Charles for drinks.  The Baha does not serve food but you can order food to be delivered if you feel the need to eat.

Those who cannot meet at the Baha can meet us at the venue at 6:45 or 7:00 when the doors open.

At the show we will be passing out flyers to all the INXS fans who until the Lovehammers come on stage and blow them the fuck away didn't know who Lovehammers were. If you have flyers, pleae bring them.  I will be bringing flyers with me to share with everyone who wants to street team.

If you want my cell phone number PM me and I'll give it to you.

See you all tomorrow night.

Go call radio and request "Trees".  That is all!

Oh, show up tomorrow night ready to rock and ready to street team people.

If you haven't been relentlessly and  persistently calling radio stations in St. Louis, now is the time to hit them hard with the Lovheammers coming back to town.

You can listen to The Point live online at http://www.kpnt.com/.  Personally, I'd suggest requesting "Straight as an Arrow" at this station.  You can call 314.613.7769 or e-mail him at tommythepointpd@stl.emmis.com.  Remember, to keep it short and sweet. "Hey, can you guys play "Straight as an Arrow" by Marty Casey & Lovehammers?  Thanks!"

You can listen to KSHE live online as well at http://www.kshe95.com.  You can make requests by calling the request lines at MO. Request Line (314) 969-1111 IL. Request Line (800) 842-KSHE  or e-mail the DJ's directly.  Here are the DJ's e-mail addresses:   guy@stl.emmis.com   kkruze@stl.emmis.com (Katy is actually a fan of Marty's.)  tommyt@stl.emmis.com

Of course, don't forget to keep calling your local rock and alternative stations.

I'll look for more contact information and post it.

Poet - I put some requests in via email.  Hopefully they'll start playing them more.  I'm emailing the stations here in Columbia, too.

Pointfest is a pretty big deal in MO.  This is a great festival to ST for LHs.  The Killers are one of the headliners.  This is May 12th.  Check out the link below.

Very different lineup than they had last year. i passed out some stickers and tattoos last year. Actually, I went to Pointfest II last year because the first one was the same weekend as Beale Street.   I'll be going again this year.  The station sent e-mails out a month or so ago asking which bands fans would like to see at Pointfest. I requested the Lovehammers.  Modern Day Zero will be playing.  Zack of MDZ joined the guys on stage at Blueberry Hill.  Are you going?
kbgirlref
Poet - I can't go.  My daughter has a dance recital that day.  I wish I could.  I love Modern Day Zero.  Zach actually watched the whole show right in front of me at Blueberry Hill until he went on stage.  Pretty cool! I love so many of the bands that are playing.  I guess I'll just have to be happy knowing the LHs will be the next weekend.  Let me know if you go and need any supplies.
poet
I would have asked him to move. lol  Yeah, I like them too  They are my sister's favorite indie band.  She flew back from Florida last year to see them at Pointfest II and was very disappointed when they cancelled to open for Alice in Chains.  As far as I know we are going.
kbgirlref
I didn't mind.  :)  He's a cutie.  If you go, take lots of pics for me.  I keep hoping they'll come back to the Blue Note soon.  They used to come here all the time when they were just starting out.  Not so much anymore.  I missed the last show due to dance stuff, too.

Poet..you are going to Pointfest in STL? I've never been.  I would love to see Lovehammers there though..they deserve it!!  I'm going to check the line up..what's the ages like there? I always imagine crazy 17 yr. olds
poet
Yeah, he is cute, but if he was standing between me and Marty he'd be in my way. lol  I've been listening to them for a couple years, but I've not seen them live yet.

When The Point sent out an e-mail to their club members asking who we wanted to see at Pointfest, I requested Lovehammers. I think they'd be great there.  Last year the ages ranged from 12 to 50.  It was mild compared to Summerfest which was insane.  All the bands did meet and greets if you wanted to stand in a long ass line.
kbgirlref
I requested them, too.  :)  I hope they add them later.  I won't be able to make it, but at least others would get to have some good old LH fun!

I'm only standing in one of those long ass lines for LH's  8) ..thanks for the info. on pointfest..maybe I'll go this year.  I really don't care for many bands live except for LH's..can't beat Marty as a frontman!!
poet
There are still some open slots.  I think one is for a national act and one is for a local band.  I don't like lines.  I get bored way too easily.  The only band I didn't like that day was Hurt.  I'll make sure I have plenty of supplies this year.

St. Louis HHs - this is a great event to ST!  Check it out at:  http://celebratestlouis.org/site/index.php...ge&Itemid=1  I'm gonna try to go to the Goo Goo Dolls show and maybe a few others.  I can't believe how many artists they got lined up to play for free!
stormkat19
I love free concerts....
This GGD concert is going to be insane.  They have had a HUGE tour for "Let Love In."  This is the 2nd year they are touring for that cd...if that's any indication.

Lifehouse is joining them all summer long.

I'm on vacation that week, so I'm going to ENJOY one of my favorite bands.  These guys are too cool.

The time has come Missouri. Lovehammers needs you to help start 2010 off with some sold out shows. January 16th LH will be coming to St. Louis (to a venue to be released soon). They will follow that show with Tony LaRussa's ARF benefit on the 17th. We need the entire MO HC to help promote these shows. Start thinking now of places to hang flyers, media to contact (print and radio/tv), and people to tell. The first show's venue will hold about 300 people. We plan on selling this baby out. Post any and all ideas you have in this thread or message us on myspace.

ATTENTION LOVEHAMMER FANS! We need you all to start requesting Guns on The Point 105.7 in St. Louis. They have the song; now we just have to get them to play it. This is crucial to help promote the show in January. You can stream the station online. http://www.kpnt.com/

Just wanted to share a blog that we put up at the MO HC. Other state's STs might consider something similar. And of course, if anyone wants to send one of the MO college stations a CD, let me know.

As most of you know, Lovehammers new album, Heavy Crown, was released and shipped to the mainstream rock stations around the US. The goal is to get "Guns" picked up as a single for regular rotation. A lot of these stations are restricted by corporate decisions.

Well, most college stations aren't bound by music directors or advertisers.

Below is a list of stations in Missouri that might consider playing songs off LH's new album if only they had it. If you would like to "gift" the CD to any of these stations, let me know and I will get contact info out ASAP.

If you are sending a CD, please include a cover letter and promo photo. I can send these to you as well. The only thing I can not provide is the CD.

KCOU - University of Missouri - Columbia
KTRM - Truman State University - Kirksville
KMNR - Missouri University of Science & Technology - Rolla
KWUR - Washington University - St. Louis
KSLU - St. Louis University - St. Louis

Thanks for your help spreading the LOVE!
