I've been working hard on getting WCCC Hartford, CT to play Trees.
They started 2 nights ago but only playing it in the wee hours 3-4 am. After a few more contacts they played it 11:55 last night and 5:34 this am.
Please click on the link to request it for the "6'oclock request hour" - Thanks to anyone who can help.

Phantom,
I update my link for the 6 o'clock request hour. Did you see one for requests/anytime? Or just the phone number?
Thanks for trying everyone. I listened for a while this afternoon and still have not heard it during the day.
The email I got from Mike K (DJ) said we'd start hearing it more this weekend.
Thanks again Phantom for your help on this station.

Ok, I've gone through the member list and there are a few others from CT here.
Anyone willings to help out with the street team? I've been requesting at several radio stations, but need the help of some local radio listeners. Also if you go see a band play at the Webster, Dodge, Toads, or local bars you can take some flyers and pass them out and post some.
Please pm me or post here if you can help.
thanks

Here are the links, the phone numbers are on the sites, best to call I think if you can swing that. I will continue to work on 106.9 WCCC The Rock since they are being pains about lots of people emailing.

I have contacted the other CT members on this board but they are either inactive members or not able to help with STing.
So it looks like there isn't anyone here in CT to work on street teaming with me (oh besides my husband). He has taken some flyers to work and regularly listens to the music there. People have been asking about it too. How could they not? It's great stuff.
I'll update here what I have worked on. Besides STing NYC before CBGB show and Mohegan Sun before, during and after show he is a quick recap.
Worked on 106.9 The Rock andTrees was added to the playlist. Station had played it mostly later night and over night but at least twice a night until just recently. Trying to get in touch again with DJ who did this for me originally to see if they can get it back on. This station is harder rock.
105.9 The River has the CD and I have requested it, they played Trees a couple of times but this is a clear channel station and it not showing on regular playlist. Will absolutely keep requesting. They also have an artist spotlight at 10 am each day and I request MCLH for that also. I find the clear channel stations rarely answer their phones which makes it hard to develop a rapore with a DJ.
I ordered (Crazy4Marty found these) some large magnets for our cars with the LH logo, name picture of the band and website info on them. They are great! I love having them on the cars and we can advertise/promote the band everytime we go out without having to do anything.
I have left CD promotion flyers all around as I run errands. Post office, library, restaurants, bathrooms (taped to inside of stall) you name it, I've left them there. I have not done the sticker thing yet but it is something I would like to work on soon.
Using the lovehammer e-cards which are great!
I don't usually have my camera with me when I am running errands so don;t think to take pictures to post. I posted some of the types of flyers I had a while back in some other area on this forum.
I will take pics of the car magnets since they are so well done. Not really expensive either. I would love to see others with these on their cars.
I gave the new CD to a few friends and a couple people at work because they asked me about it when I was playing it.
CD shuffle when I hit the music stores.
I bought a forest of Trees from iTunes and gifted those to my friends and family.
VH1 posting, voting regularly...
My momentum has not died down. I hope that we are all helping to make a difference for this great band.

Hey Velvet, I am pretty new here. I see you're from CT too. What can I do? I called WPLR 99.1 NewHaven/Milford and talked to them about how to go about getting the CD played and I was told that because Clear Channel/ Cox radio owns them they have to go to the top before anything gets passed to played. I didn't specifically ask for Lovehammers but when I called I said I want to find out how to get a band played, and then said Lovehammers. I have never heard them being played on WPLR but maybe someday soon.

Hi Julie
you didn't list your location so I missed you. Clear channel stations are hard. I would love to get them back on 106.9 the Rock so if you want to call in a request for Trees that would be great. They had an attitude a while back when getting slammed with email requests from ST and sent not so nice replies. Mike K was kind to me and kept Trees on the playlist for some time.
The best thing to do is call and simply request Trees (since they have it) say thank you and goodbye. Just be a fan requesting to hear the song.
Welcome to the board, where are you in CT? Hope you've had a chance to see them live.
thanks for offering to help.

Velvet, thanks for replying, I'm in Orange, where are you? I saw them at Mohegan Sun and they were so great. Marty went crazy and went through the crowd, came right over to me(well where I was seated), jumped on my seat and grabbed my arm! I was so shocked that I didn't even have time to react. Damn! But I touched him...lol. I just made plans to go to Memphis, I'm nuts, my coworker/friend, her Mom and Aunt live in Nashville so we are going to see them as well, they aren't doing too well health wise and I thought evne before I found out LH were playing at Beale St. that she should go see them soon. Perfect timing! Anyway, let me know what I can do to ST. And let me know where you are, take care.

We are in Wolcott.
have a great time in Memphis. We aren't able to swing that trip. We were at Mohegan Sun too. Also got to see them on Valentine's day at CBGB's....an experience that words just can not describe.
If you can print some flyers and drop off at local places when you are out let me know and I'll send you the files. I've gotten everything I need here, there are some really talented people who design the flyers and post links. It's helpful to take flyers when you go to other concerts too. We don't get to many shows since our kids are young but we are going to NIN in June so I'll take some with me then.
PM if you have any questions.

Kristin Burns from The River will play Trees on Wed 4/19 during the All Request Lunch Hour which runs from 12-1:30. Â This is a Clear Channel station, so I am pleased that they are going to play it again. Â The last time they played it was on Valentine's Day. Â You can listen live.

105.9 The River played Trees today during the All Request Lunch Hour.
The DJ gave a nice promo for the band too. Wish I recorded it so I could remember but it went something like this (after she said that she was playing it for me):
She said that I was their #1 fan (lmao won't fight anyone for that title) and that you may remember that was the song that Marty Casey sang while trying to win the lead singer gig during RS last summer. She said that while Marty may not have won the job she thought that they'd do great on their own. And even though INXS chose JD they liked Marty and his band so much that they invited them on tour. And if there was anything else, I can't remember.

I do have the car magnets, but haven't taken a picture yet. I'll put them on here when I remember to take the dang pictures. I'm so afraid someone is gonna steal them right off my car.
They are posted on another thread, Crazy4Marty designed them and I just go smaller ones made through Salvation Signs. The same design is being used for Memphis show banner. You gotta get some! 8)

I know the LH's are not hitting CT on this tour, but will be so close - NJ, NYC Boston. Time to step up the ST efforts again in CT. Now I know that there are some CT Hammerheads on this board so please let me know if you can help with anything, what area you can cover. Radio stations, distributing the new GET LIVE tour flyers. I'll copy the newest flyer here (created by lasnow) that has been approved for use.
Don't forget to order the new LH wristbands
http://www.lovehammersforum.com/viewtopic.php?t=3284 which you can wear while street teaming and of course everday. People WILL ask what it is and that provides you with yet another opportunity to spread the love.
Post here or pm me.
Thanks

Welcome to the board
I understand about the babysitter situation. We are in the same boat but will be at these shows too. Hopefully we'll meet
The best thing to do would be to print off some tour flyers, post some and leave small stacks of others around (people have been known to post them at gas stations, leave them in libraries, basically anywhere you go  )
If there is a radio station in your area that you regularly listen to, call and request Trees. They have the CD and have played Trees on request at The River here in CT. Maybe if there is more than one person requesting it, they may play it more.

I'm thrilled to see more CT street teamers. There are some great flyers posted in the general street team thread. Also if you are requesting LH songs on any CT stations and they play them, please post that info here.
Previously street teamers were asked to post anything that they were doing to help with the effort to spread the love. So feel free to tell all here.
Again, welcome and hope to see you around the board and at a show or two!

The River is near my sister. I'll have to get her to make some requests too.
I can't remember where I read it but it was on a board. Something to the effect that WPLR is a Clear Channel station and to get a band on their play list, they have to have sold X amount of albums. This was a while ago, though, and when I last checked the website, Lovehammers does come up on the artist search with a bio and MOMM and MCLH CDs listed.
