I went to meet Danish fashion designer Peter Ingwersen, who creates the INCREDIBLE Noir collection. It was like meeting my long lost best friend.

We talked fashion, travel, jetlag, and music. Natch, that combination of topics meant that a band called Lovehammers came up in the course of conversation. He was so excited when I told him about LH music and how I traveled to Chicago to see them because they were so hot.

And when I told him he needed to design a men's colleciton because his style is perfect for the LH lead singer, he said, "I want to dress your band. Promise to send me the CD!"

OMG!!!

I am happy hammerhead.
  go check out the Noir collection and tell me if I am not right about this, guys. Peter is super cool and very excited to hear band's music. So let's check out his cool clothes in return -- they look cool and provide sustainable support to 3rd world.


edited to add: I sent Peter an email with link to loverhammers.com and will send him CD asap. The Noir collection is currently only for women, but Peter has been asked many times to design for men. when I talked to him about LH, he was really pumped to do just that. The ironic thing is as I was leaving the event, the DJ was playing a re-mix of an INXS song!

"I must say….great to meet you and what a great conversation. I truly enjoyed meeting you in HK and I will check out Lovehammer ( what an inspiring name ) and have them in mind when we start designing the mens collection in a years time."

there have been a few questions about the Noir collection, so let me adrs those now. It is relatively new and, to date, only for women. Peter I and his team have plans to launch men's wear line (posible next year) and this is what he is thinking of for LH.
The clothes are usually black or dark grey, midnight blue..., beautifully tailored and kind of goth. Think Helmut Newton photos/Marlene Dietrich/bauhaus. Perfect for a certain lead singer, ahem.
A very cool attraction is the connection the brand has to the Afircan farmers that grow the cotton used in the fabrics. The concept is quite similar to Bono's Edun colleciton, but the clothes are high-end. This review gives a nice overview for those interested:

I got lovely email from Peter (Noir designer) thanking me for opening his "ears and eyes to the band". I hope he is enjoying the CD and thinking of our boys as he puts together his first men's wear collection.
